If you use your Microsoft 365 or Hotmail username and password to send emails from TASBooks or MultiTAS then it’s very likely this change will affect you.
If you have TASBooks v6 or MultiTAS and use the Outlook option then you won’t be affected.
Below are the relevant settings which have been highlighted.

Microsoft is disabling support for Basic Authentication – which works using your username/email address and password only. This means that any and all applications/software/services that use basic SMTP settings to send emails will no longer work. This change started in March 2023 and has slowly been rolled out since then. It’s due to be completed by September 2025.
Modern authentication techniques improve security and the reliability of email delivery (e.g. you are less likely to end up in the spam/junk folder).
If you use TASBooks v6 then use the Outlook option. Ditto if you use MultiTAS.
Failing that, we have been able to make email sending work from TASBooks and MultiTAS using Gmail (Google’s email service). So, setting up a free Gmail account for sending out your TASBooks statements, invoices etc might be a good move for you.
